BILL COURT - PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

On behalf of the Silverdale Sunrise Rotary Club and the Kitsap Soap Box Derby Association I welcome you.   Our Rotary Club was looking to sponsor a community event and one of our members had raced soap box derby as a child.  The Club thought it would be fun to bring back a little tradition to the area and thus the idea of holding an All American Soap Box Derby race in Silverdale was born.  In 2003 we held our first Local All American event composed only of Super Stock cars.  Being new we held a single elimination event which short changed many children with only one run.  In 2004 we went to double elimination and in 2006 we expanded by adding the Stock class cars.  If all goes well we will add a Masters class in 2007.
